Borislav Strulev & Friends: Russian Jazz with an International and a Local Twist
Generation R at the JCC in Manhattan is proud to continue its ongoing live-music series in its state-of-the-art theater presented by world-renowned cellist and concert visionary Borislav Strulev. Join for an intimate evening of classic Russian jazz featuring Borislav and some of the best undiscovered local talent.
Borislav Strulev & Friends proudly presents a special evening featuring Israeli piano virtuoso Leonid Ptashka, one of the world's preeminent jazz pianists. Ptashka will be joined by saxophonist Yaacov Mayman, the New York-based saxophone player who has been contributing his unique voice to the vibrant New York, Russia and Israel Jazz scenes for years, earning praise from peers and music critics alike. Rounding out the jazz ensemble will be bassist Eddy Khaimovich and percussionist Alexandra Mogilevich. Khaimovich is thoughtful improviser who organically blen his jazz and classical backgrounds, while Alexandra is one one of the few female Jewish percussionists to perform in venues throughout the world.
Borislav Strulev, cello extraordinaire and architect of the evening's performance brings his rich tonal sounds and exuberant playing style to the JCC's intimate, state-of-the-art theater for just one night, so don't miss out!
