Reinventing Ritual: Comtemporary Art and Design for Jewish Life

Artists' and designers' rising interest in ritual over the last decade inspires the first international exhibition to survey this phenomenon. Nearly 60 innovative works in diverse media including industrial design, architecture, installation art, video, drawing, metalwork, jewelry, ceramics, comics, sculpture, and textiles have been assembled at the Jewish Museum for a groundbreaking show. Among the 57 artists represented are Jonathan Adler, Sigalit Landau, Virgil Marti, Mierle Laderman Ukeles and Karim Rashid.

Rite Now: Sacred and Secular in Video

Seven works produced between 2001 and 2009 document inventive spiritual practies, refocus old stories through a contemporary lens and create altogether new rituals.
